A photographic series made in Aarhus in 2024 while I was an international student living on the 8th floor of a student housing block.
Photography became a way to cope with feelings of disconnection and to search for some form of connection with my surroundings. I went on long walks during the day and night, using my camera as a way to hold onto my emotions, navigate an unfamiliar city, and find my smile again.
The work combines street photography, collages, and drawings, moving between the private space of isolation and the public space of the city.
The images do not document a clear narrative but reflect a period of loneliness, observation, and the attempt to find belonging through looking.
